Critics' Verdict

Critics generally praised Munjya for its Maharashtrian folklore foundation, Konkan setting, CGI creation, background score and Abhay Verma’s likeable performance. The most common complaints were inconsistent humour, limited genuine scares, an uneven second half, underwritten characters and an increasingly chaotic climax.

Pinkvilla appreciates the fresh concept, production values, music, background score and charming young cast. An irritating monster voice, shallow characters, formulaic tropes and an absurd climax spoil the promising beginning.

Bollywood Hungama applauds the fascinating concept, brisk pace, CGI and gripping, twist-filled second half. Loose ends, excessive early information and several ineffective jokes keep it from becoming fully satisfying.
