Critics' Verdict

Emergency is anchored by Kangana Ranaut’s committed performance as Indira Gandhi and some strong supporting turns, but rushed storytelling and limited historical depth undermine its ambitious political canvas. Its disastrous theatrical run further reflected the film’s failure to connect strongly with audiences.
