Critics' Verdict

Coolie received a mixed to positive response, leaning more positive from fan focused outlets and more mixed/critical from mainstream reviewers. Nearly everyone agrees that Rajinikanth’s screen presence is the film’s biggest strength, with Anirudh’s music, mass moments, cameos, and some action sequences also getting praise. Overall: a Rajini powered mass entertainer that works for fans, but falls short of the massive Rajini-Lokesh expectations.
