News18 calls the Akshay Kumar, Priyadarshan horror comedy loud, laboured, and heavily stuck in a Bhool Bhulaiyaa hangover. The review says the film tries to recreate old school Priyadarshan chaos but the humour feels dated, the scares are weak, and the screenplay drags. It notes that Akshay Kumar, and the supporting cast have a few fun moments, but overall the film feels overlong, predictable, and not sharp enough to justify the nostalgia.

The review also highlights the palace setting, a Bhool Bhulaiyaa-like vibe, and unusually polished VFX in the second half.

A decent, old-school Priyadarshan entertainer that works mainly because of its humor, comic performances, and chaotic energy. The review says the first half is the film’s strongest stretch, packed with funny one-liners, physical comedy, and nostalgia for Priyadarshan’s classic style, while Akshay Kumar, Rajpal Yadav, and Paresh Rawal are praised heavily for their comic timing.

Bhooth Bangla an entertaining horror-comedy that works mainly because of Akshay Kumar’s energetic performance, Priyadarshan-style humor, and a strong dose of nostalgia. It praises the film’s wacky, earthy comedy and says the spooky haveli setup is fun, even if the plot gets overlong, some twists feel predictable, and the climax drags.

Bhoot Bangla works mainly because Akshay Kumar is back in his comic comfort zone and Priyadarshan brings back that familiar old-school comedy energy, with the horror angle adding some fun. The takeaway is that it delivers laughs and nostalgia, even if it leans more on comic chaos than anything genuinely scary.
