Critics' Verdict

Batwara 1947 has received mixed to positive reviews, leaning positive. Critics widely praise Shabana Azmi, Sunny Deol’s emotional performance and the film’s strong message of communal harmony. However, the slow pace, weak execution in some parts and a few over the top action moments stop it from being consistently powerful.
