Koimoi gives Tere Ishk Mein 2/5, calling it a dark romance led by Dhanush’s intense, moving performance. The review also praises Kriti Sanon’s skilled act despite her confusingly written character, while Prakash Raj and Priyanshu Painyuli are considered effective. However, it criticizes the film’s flawed story, illogical twists, overlong 169-minute runtime, weak emotional impact after the interval, and forgettable A.R. Rahman music.

News18's review calls Tere Ishk Mein an intense, angry romantic drama - “written in blood, sprinkled with petrol.” The review praises Dhanush and Kriti Sanon’s powerful performances, A.R. Rahman’s music, and Aanand L Rai’s flair for emotional chaos. But it says the film is messy, melodramatic, and troubling in how it handles toxic love, obsession, and violence.

It praises Dhanush’s honest performance, Kriti Sanon’s convincing sinister turn, and Prakash Raj’s support, but says the film does not fully live up to expectations.
