South superstar Yash is all set to spill his magic on the silver screen with his upcoming film KGF Chapter 2. Currently, the handsome actor is super busy with promotions and interviews a few days are left for the release of the second installment of the superhit film that was loved by the audiences. Well, during an interaction with the media, the actor spoke his heart out about RRR and The Kashmir Files.
In an interview with India Today, Yash was asked if he got a chance to watch SS Rajamouli, Ram Charan, and Jr NTR’s RRR, Vivek Agnihotri’s The Kashmir Files. The Kannada superstar said, “I haven’t watched RRR or The Kashmir Files. I want to watch it but I didn’t have time with all the KGF promotions. SS Rajamouli’s RRR and Vivek’s The Kashmir Files did amazingly well on the big screens. Netizens could not stop praising the performances of the actors in both films. The storyline of the films seems to have touched the hearts of the viewers. The Kashmir Files reportedly collected nearly Rs 250 crore at the box office in three weeks, while RRR managed to collect Rs 850 crore at the box office.
The actor was also asked about ‘Bollywood vs regional cinema’ debate. Yash said, “The Bollywood vs regional cinema argument is outdated. We should move on because the audience has evolved. I don’t like it when anyone says ‘it’s a dubbed film’. That doesn’t mean there’s less effort.” He further added saying, “Dubbing is a process, we dub in Kannada also after we’re done shooting the film. Today, more effort goes into dubbing so it looks original. We change dialogues according to regional sensibilities. It’s, after all, an Indian film available in multiple languages. Covid mein bhi 2-3 saal gaya, why are you still thinking that way?”
KGF Chapter 2 stars Sanjay Dutt, Srinidhi Shetty, Raveena Tandon, and Prakash Raj in the main roles. The film has been directed by Prashanth Neel and will release on April 14.
