Kartik Aaryan undergoes successful knee surgery

Mumbai [India], August 22 (ANI): Bollywood star Kartik Aaryan has returned home following a successful knee surgery at a Mumbai-based hospital.

The ‘Chandu Champion’ actor recently sustained a knee injury while performing an action sequence on the sets of one of his films, after which he had to undergo surgery.

According to his spokesperson, he is currently recovering and is expected to resume shooting soon.

“Kartik Aaryan sustained a knee injury while performing an action sequence on the set of his film. His surgery was completed successfully, and he is now back home, resting and recovering. He will be back on set soon,” his spokesperson said.

Meanwhile, on the professional front, Kartik recently won the Best Actor in a Leading Role award at the 72nd National Film Awards (announced on July 18, 2026) for his portrayal of India’s first Paralympic Gold Medalist Murlikant Petkar in the biographical sports drama Chandu Champion, directed by Kabir Khan.

Reacting to the achievement on Instagram, Aaryan wrote, “Still processing… Some moments are simply bigger than words, and this is one of them. A dream I’ve carried for years has finally come true. Forever humbled, forever grateful..Best Actor National Award #ChanduChampion.”

Kartik and veteran actor Mammootty were jointly honoured with the Best Actor Award at the 72nd National Film Awards. Mammootty’s versatile performance in Bramayugam helped him bag his fourth National Award. (ANI)
