Critics praise Daayra for its serious subject, Prithviraj Sukumaran and Kareena Kapoor's performances, and its questions about law, justice and police power. The main criticism is that the central moral clash is not explored deeply enough, with several reviewers finding the pacing slow or the climax less powerful.
