Mumbai, Sept. 15 -- Barun Sobti made headlines when he quit his successful TV show, Iss Pyaar Ko Kya Naam Doon, three years ago.

His exit (his contract had ended, and he didn't want to renew it due to health reasons) became a talking point because, instead of replacing the actor, the channel decided to end the show altogether.

The decision was apparently the result of an outrage by Barun's fans. Later, he made his film debut with Main Aur Mr Right (2014), which released after a long wait.

Currently, he is awaiting the release of two other movies. But, time and again, buzz about Barun returning to the small screen keeps emerging. Recently, some similar reports cropped up, and his fans went berserk spreading the news on social media.

Ask him if there is any truth to these reports, and he says, "There is a plan to do a finite series, but nothing is confirmed as of now. It's in a very early stage. Nothing is locked. Hopefully in a month, I should have some clarity."

A few months ago, Barun was seen in a short film with TV actor Kritika Kamra. Was it an attempt to stay in the news? "No. You can't stay in the news like that. I guess that's why people like me. I don't do things for the heck of it. I do what I like, and not because it is supposed to be done," he says.
