Ever since the success of Tanu Weds Manu part 2, there were speculations about another sequel of the movie.

Recently at the second edition of the Times of India Film Awards (TOIFA), one of the actors of the movie Deepak Dobrial was awarded the Best Actor in a comic role award for his character of Pappi Ji in the movie.

The actor on being asked about whether any planning was being done to launch the third part of the movie, he answered, "People are demanding for the third part. Yes, it will happen."

The first and second parts of the romantic comedy drama ‘Tanu Weds Manu’ were released in the years 2011 and 2015 respectively. Both the movies directed by Anand L. Rai were very successful at the box office and loved by the audience. The first part of the movie starred R. Madhavan and Kangana Ranaut in the lead roles and Jimmy Shergil, Swara Bhaskar, Ejaz Khan, K. K. Raina and Deepak Dobrial in supporting roles. The second part had Kangana Ranaut in a double role.

Both parts of the movie were liked by the audience very much especially in North India. It had also received much critical appreciation and won some awards. The first part has also featured on movie channels many times. As such, the news of preparations of its third part has come as good news for the audiences who have been eagerly waiting for it.
