Mumbai, Aug. 13 -- They are surely two of the most exciting young stars in Bollywood right now. Probably that's why when Anushka Sharma and Varun Dhawan were cast together in Sui Dhaaga - Made In India, it was considered a casting coup of sorts.

For the uninitiated, the Sharat Katariya-directed film will see Varun and Anushka team up in a film, for the first time.

"For us, it's very exciting to hear that their pairing is already being hailed as fresh and cool, which makes them one of the most awaited reel pairs to hit the silver-screen this year," says an insider, close to the film. Talking about the interest level that the fresh pairing of Varun and Anushka has generated, film's producer Maneesh Sharma says: "Varun and Anushka relished the chance to step out of their comfort zone - that is of constantly being portrayed as glamorous stars. Mauji and Mamta are salt of the earth kind of characters, which gave the two actors a chance to really push themselves as actors."

The film - whose trailer releases today - will see Maneesh and Sharat team up again after their first winning collaboration, Dum Laga Ke Haisha in 2015.

"For me, more than getting a fresh jodi, the excitement was to get the right actors who will complement each other. And luckily, both of them agreed to do the film and they have done a remarkable job."

Adds Maneesh: "As performers, there's a certain yin-and-yang quality to their [Varun and Anushka] approach to the craft and that reflects in their amazing on-screen chemistry."
