Mahduri Dixit: 'Everything will be one big screen'

Mumbai, May 29 -- Madhuri Dixit, who's swamped with films, endorsements and appearances, is back on TV with the new season of dance reality show, Jhalak Dikhhla Jaa (JDJ).
Ask her if she's interested in more shows on the small screen and she says, "It has to be something challenging and interesting. There is no bada parda, chota parda (big screen, small screen) anymore. I think everything will be one big screen eventually. In the near future, perhaps in five years, all mediums will be one."
The actor currently has two films in hand - Gulab Gang and Dedh Ishqiya. "I enjoyed working on them because they are powerful roles," she says. Recently, she also launched her website, Dance With Madhuri, which will be associated with the show. "Choreographers from JDJ will teach seven steps on the website. People can learn these steps, take a video of them performing, and upload it. I'll choose a winner, who might win a chance to dance with me on the show," she says.
This year, Madhuri feels the line-up of contestants in the show is very strong. Naming a few who she's familiar with, the actor says, "Since Madhubala is a popular show, I know Drashti (Dhami, lead actor). I also know of Aarti (Chhabria) and Ammaji (actor Meghna Malik), who looks so different from her screen role. It was a surprise. Shaan's (singer) kids go to the same school as mine, so we keep running into each other."
