Karan Johar gets back to direction!

By Hindustan Times
Director Karan Johar can’t stay away from making movies for too long. The filmmaker, who last directed Student Of The Year (2012), is now ready to get back to doing what he does the best — direction. And this time around, instead of newcomers, he will be directing seasoned actors, Rani Mukerji
and Randeep Hooda.
A source close to Karan reveals, “His (Karan) next is a love story between Rani Mukerji and Randeep Hooda. The movie also has Saqib Saleem (last seen in Mujhse Fraaandship Karoge; 2011) playing a pivotal role.”
Karan, who began shooting the film yesterday, will be one of the four directors — the others are Zoya Akhtar, Dibakar Banerjee and Anurag Kashyap — who will present the feature film, Bombay Talkies together. The movie has a realistic story and is set against the backdrop of Mumbai, and Karan will be shooting it at real locations in the city.
The source adds, “Karan, who usually shoots in elaborate locations, will now shoot on the streets and other actual places.”
For this film, Karan and Rani will come together after a long gap and this will be the first time he will direct Randeep.
Bombay Talkies is a landmark feature film this year, releasing on May 3, when Bollywood joins the country in celebrating 100 years of Indian cinema.
