You hate it, you love it, but you definitely can’t ignore it – that’s Vidya Balan’s style statement for you! Over the years, with her evolved fashion sense, Vidya has proved that no one looks as stunning as her in traditional Indian wear. Be it the beautiful, flowy anarkalis or the traditional drape, Vidya knows to dress and impress. And though she may have impeccable stylists working on her attire, it’s the actress who picks and chooses her accessories and jewellery to match with what she wears. With a bright smile, Vidya reveals that the traditional styled jewellery is her favourite: “A diamond may be a girl’s best friend, but traditional Indian gold is a woman’s best friend,” says the actor who believes it’s auspicious to buy gold especially during Diwali.
The actor feels that diamonds, however sparkling, can never beat the glitter and charm of gold. From gold kadas and bangles to gold neckpieces and chokars. Vidya loves it all. And Diwali is the time when she loves to flaunt it. What tops her list of favourites is the chunky jhumkas. “I just love jhumkas. Be it in gold, diamond or silver, they look beautiful and so feminine. Jhumkas are just the perfect jewelry to go with Indian outfits.”
The gorgeous Vidya also reveals that she has a beautiful collection of jhumkas. “I never leave a chance of buying jhumkas. From the most expensive to the ones I have bought on Mumbai’s local trains for just Rs. 5, I just love my collection,” she says with a blush. And while talking about jhumkas, Vidya has an interesting confession to make. “At times when I lay out my entire jhumka collection and just look at it, I feel completely like a woman!” Aah! We are sure there are men who go tera jhumka re aaye haye each time Vidya adorns herself with a pair.
