It remains to be seen whether director David Dhawan’s upcoming film Main Tera Hero will provide any laughs, but its lead actors Nargis Fakhri and Varun Dhawan had everyone in splits with their refreshing candour and effortless charm during their visit to the city on Friday.

While the film’s trailer is focused on Varun, with Nargis and Ileana D’cruz shown as his ‘arm candies’, Fakhri promised with a mischievous wink that the audience would see “a lot” of her in the film. “I wear a lot of revealing outfits in this film, so trust me when I say you’ll be seeing a whole lot more of me than you bargained for,” she laughed.

“The public may worship a particular actor, but a film is the result of team effort, so it doesn’t worry me that people call it Varun’s vehicle,” she said.

Varun, who made his debut with Karan Johar’s Student of the Year, said he was “more nervous” acting in his father’s film.

On being asked the difference between the two men, he laughed and said, "Their gait. Karan mollycoddles his actors and is quite gentle with them, while dad is quite strict with his actors and about what he expects from them."

The young actor added that he really wanted to do a comedy film and it was almost like a "call from within" for him.

Though his contemporaries like Alia Bhatt and Siddharth Malhotra are doing quite well, Varun said his nervousness did not stem from their success. "It is because of the genre. Masala comedies are attempted by only superstars in our country. This will most definitely not be the choice for a second film for any of my contemporaries, but like I said, I really wanted to do a comedy film and, who better to direct it than David Dhawan," he said.

For Nargis, "being funny" in real life, as opposed to reel life, was a completely different ballgame. "Comedy is a difficult genre at best, and for someone like me, who still struggles with Hindi, there were times I did not even understand the jokes in the film," she said.

On being asked if we would see more of her later, she asked cheekily, "In which way?"
