Mumbai, March 6 -- Apart from acting, one thing that makes Shashank Vyas feel alive is travelling. Shashank loves to travel and the actor recently returned from a week-long trip to Jammu & Kashmir.
"Kashmir was so beautiful. I have no words for the beauty of the valley. I think it hasn't been explored by many people and I feel more people should visit Kashmir and explore this heaven on earth. I felt completely secure there and the locals were quite friendly as well," he says.
The Balika Vadhu actor also enjoyed the snowfall in the region. Talking about travelling, he says, "I believe when you travel, you invest in yourself and one should collect memories and not things while travelling. It relaxes and unwinds me completely. I love meeting people from different walks of life and observe them. Wherever I go, I try to use the local transport to get around so that I get a feel of the destination."
Shashank also visited the Vaishno Devi temple while he was in the state, which he says was "special" for him.
"It was my first visit to the temple and I was able to attend the first morning aarti. It was magical. A close friend of mine accompanied me on the trip and we began walking towards the temple at midnight and reached the temple at 4am in the morning. It was quite cold but I still walked bare foot to the temple. The walk was quite strenuous but we took breaks in between. I was told that the view and vibe of the place early in the morning is quite different from what it is during the day."
