Mumbai, Sept. 22 -- After a long hiatus, actor Sanjay Dutt is back on the silver screen with Bhoomi that releases today. Aditi Rao Hydari plays his daughter in the film. The plot of the film revolves around a father-daughter relationship.
The Vaastav (1999) actor may have donned many hats in his long career spanning almost four decades but adds that there is still a child-like excitement in him ahead of the release today.
Talking about the role, Sanjay says, "I want to play roles that challenge me as well as hit the right chord. When I heard the narration of Bhoomi, I knew this was the film I wanted to return with. Bhoomi challenged me as a father and an actor. It is a hard hitting story with its heart in the right place."
Speaking more about the film, director Omung Kumar adds, "Bhoomi is a story of a simple family in a small town, which deals with a single parent. The story develops to show what a father would do when a tragedy strikes his daughter."
Producer Bhushan Kumar says, "The film is an emotional revenge drama and every cast member has given his or her best, which will strike well with our audience." Co-producer Sandeep Singh adds, "Baba (Sanjay Dutt) chose to do Bhoomi because he believed in the story and it is that sincerity that audiences will see on screen."
Produced by T-Series and Legend Studios, Bhoomi releases today.
