Mumbai, March 8 -- Community living, as a concept, is far more engrained in India's cultural ethos than in the West.

Our films have also gained a unique hue over the years in their narrative format, and have captured the essence of community living. The new film 3 Storeys reflects just that.

A source from the unit says, "It (community living) could be women living in the same area and the aspect of their liberation in Lipstick Under My Burkha (2016) or the liberation of a community from a dacoit in a village called Ramgarh in Sholay (1975). It reflected through the windows of romance in films like Mili (1975) and its complications through Katha (1983). 3 Storeys celebrates this emotion of community living and pays an ode to it."

The project is helmed by debutant director Arjun Mukerjee, and is produced by Priya Sreedharan, Ritesh Sidhwani and Farhan Akhtar.

3 Storeys, presented by Excel Entertainment and B4U Motion Pictures, is an Open Air Films production and releases on March 9.
