New Delhi, Feb. 29 -- 2015 can surely be called the year of actor Ranveer Singh. He not only had a fantastic run at the box office, but was also praised a lot for his acting skills.

But, what makes Ranveer most excited is the fact that he got to show his versatility with two different kinds of films - Dil Dhadakne Do (DDD) and Bajirao Mastani (BM). "In 2013, I'd experienced that kind of variation (with Lootera and Ram-Leela)," he says.

Ranveer feels experimentation is important at this stage of his career. "I hope to continue the momentum. It's essential to show my versatility because I want filmmakers to believe that I can fit into any mould that they create. Every filmmaker should believe that I can do any kind of role," says the actor.

The 30-year-old admits that people were shocked to see him as Peshwa Bajirao. "My friends who have known me all my life (for almost 25 years), even they said, 'we couldn't see Ranveer when we watched the film; we were only watching Bajirao.' And that's a huge compliment. Deepika's (Padukone) reaction on Twitter was pretty much the reaction across the board which was like, 'tu ye bhi kar sakta hai?'" he says.

He adds, "Those were vastly different sets in two distinct worlds (DDD and BM). I'm glad I could successfully fulfill both my responsibilities." The actor is now shooting for his next with filmmaker Aditya Chopra.
