Mumbai, March 13 -- For actor Ranveer Singh, shooting for filmmaker Zoya Akhtar's film, Gully Boy, is proving to be one of his most "emotionally overwhelming" shoots so far.

The film, based on the lives of street rappers Divine and Naezy, is being shot in the Dharavi area, and according to a source from the film sets, the locals are showering Ranveer with love, care and affection.

The source shares, "Ranveer has been flooded with warmth and love in Dharavi since the locals know that he is bringing to life the real stories of their heroes, Divine and Naezy. They know he is working on a film that will show the world their struggles, hopes, ambitions and their emotional journey."

Apparently, Ranveer has also been going all out for the project. "He has had intense shooting schedules that last for 12 hours everyday, and is currently shooting at night - from 6pm to 6am - as well.

Seeing his dedication, the locals are making gestures of love for Ranveer by sending him everything from homecooked food to juices every day. "A few [people] also come up just to chat with and cheer him on during breaks. Dharavi has made Ranveer their own and he has been moved by their gestures. He is giving his best [to the film] to do justice to the life and times of Dharavi," says the source.
