Swachh Bharat Abhiyan has become one of the most appealing topics both for the political setup as well as Bollywood too.
Several eminent personalities have supported this initiative. However, filmmaker Rakeysh Omprakash Mehra has opted for an out of the ordinary way to promote it.

Stories are churning in the rumour mill that Mehra’s next film is named ‘Mere Pyare Pradhan Mantri’. This flick will have a backdrop of PM Narendra Modi’s pet initiative Swachh Bharat Abhiyan. At the Brahmaputra Literary Festival at Guwahati, Mehra said, “The film is about an eight-year-old boy, Kanhaiya, who desires to make a toilet for his mother.”

He was inspired to make this flick following a visit to Gandhigram. The best part is that the profits from this project will go in the making of more toilets.

He divulged, “The film will be made with grass root crowd funding from NGOs or as part of Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR),” adding, “I tell the story of the land I come from and which I understand thoroughly like about Milkha Singh, Bhagat Singh, Mirzya etc but now that I have lived in Mumbai for some years and did research for the last three years on this script that I have dared to go ahead and make the film.”

In fact, he also advised youth of the northeast India to tell their stories to the world. He said, “I don’t know the stories of the northeast. I can’t tell them but I can facilitate or produce them. Today the whole world has come together through the Internet and so now it is time to tell your stories to the world.”
