New Delhi, March 6 -- Some songs never seem to lose fire, and these 10 all-time-favourite Holi numbers are surely on that track.

Aaj na chhodenge...


The lyrics of this number by Anand Bakshi, depicted the fun and mischievous element of Holi. Featuring actors Rajesh Khanna and Asha Parekh, the song from the film Kati Patang was sung by Kishore Kumar, while the music was given by R D burman. The song became a craze in the '70s.

Holi ayee re kanhayee


This is one of the earliest Holi numbers of Bollywood. Sung by Shamshad Begum and picturised on Nargis and Raaj Kumar in the cult film, Mother India, the song has earthy and simple lyrics penned by Shakeel Badayuni. The legendary Naushad was the composer of this hit number.

Nothing like an action-paced track featuring the crisp voice of none other than Anu Malik. Yes, that what makes this song more special, and a favourite of the party hoppers. Picturised on Akshay Kumar and Priyanka Chopra, the spunky number has Sunidhi Chauhan adding to the drama with lyricist Sameer churning out magic, yet again.

The very next year, music composer RD Burman and lyricist Anand Bakshi created magic yet again with another Holi number - Holi re holi. Picturised on Hema Malini, the village backdrop of this Manna Dey-Asha Bhosle number helped it connect with the masses.

This fun number was like a cherry oon the cake in this heart-tugging story featuring superstar Amitabh Bachchan and timeless diva Hema Malini. Sung by Big B himself along with other singers, the music was given by Aadesh Srivastava while the words were penned by 90's noted lyricist, Sameer.
