Mumbai, July 22 -- What do you get when a critically-acclaimed film-maker and a powerhouse performer come together? An impactful project - and that's what the industry has to say about director Nishikant Kamat and actor Irrfan Khan's (above) film, Madaari.

The duo recently organised a special screening for their film-maker friends in Bollywood. They received a positive response, with many saying that the movie has the perfect balance of thrill and emotional drama.

David Dhawan said, "Nishikant is a competent director. The script is very good, and the way they have edited the film is fantastic. Irrfan, like always, is nice and sincere with his performance as a commercial actor."

Film-maker Homi Adajania called it a "fantastic" film. "It's extremely poignant. You can expect anything from Irrfan because he is the best. It's a beautiful movie with a solid message," he said.

Director Sudhir Mishra was happy with the way the film unfolds. "A great story, it has an emotionally effective climax," he said. Film-maker Hansal Mehta added that the movie raises questions, and also tries to find answers. "Desh so raha hai, jaagne ka samay aagaya hai. Madaari aapko jaga degi (The country is asleep. It's time for it to wake up. Madaari will help you wake up)," he said.

Film-maker Imtiaz Ali feels that every Indian should watch the movie. "A lot of truth has been spoken in a bold manner in the film. It has been written honestly. It really catches your attention," he said.

Miraj Entertainment and Bharat Shah in association with present a Paramhans Creations Productions, and a Vashu Bhagnani release, Madaari, which hits theatres today (July 22).
