After a not so splendid acting career, Imran Khan wants to take up direction. By far the 34-year-old actor has been featured in around 16 films.

He started his career as a child artist, but he made his Bollywood debut in 2008 with Abbas Tyrewala’s ‘Jaane Tu... Ya Jaane Na’. For this film, he received the Filmfare Award for Best Male Debut.

Some of the successful films of Imran include "I Hate Luv Storys", "Delhi Belly", "Mere Brother Ki Dulhan" and "Ek Main Aur Ekk Tu". His last outing was "Katti Batti", but this flick failed severely at the box-office.

At a recent event, Imran voiced his desire to direct films. He said, “I went to filmmaking school. People have been asking me about direction since 'Jaane Tu Ya Jaane Na'. I want to do it (direct) but I don't have a road map yet. It's (direction) dear to me.” He further added, “I don't know. I am in the process of deciding things. Once I take a decision I will let you know.”

In fact, a source reported, "Ayesha and Imran are said to be working on a germ of an idea that they are still developing into a screenplay. About people and relationships, Imran wants to direct it sometime soon and has thought about producing it, too. Imran won’t act in the film as he believes he needs to don one cap at a time." Writer Ayesha DeVitre, who wrote ‘Kapoor & Sons’, is Imran’s friend.
