Mumbai, June 20 -- Gurmeet Choudhary, who has played Lord Ram on the popular TV show, Ramayan, shot to fame with his projection of the role.

The show became a defining point in his career. Now it seems that his portrayal of Lord Ram has impressed a publishing house so much that it has approached him to grant them permission to have his sketch as the face of Lord Ram in the children's version of Ramayan.

Gurmeet says, "I was surprised that people still remember me as Ram because it's been years since I played that character. The show's immense success changed everything for me. It made me a household name. People still remember me as Ram more than Gurmeet and whatever I am today is because of that."

Talking about the children's book, the actor adds that it is extremely important for kids to know and learn more about Indian culture, values and traditions.

Ask him if is open to acting in mythological shows in the future, the Wajah Tum Ho (2016) actor says, "I think right now I would like to focus more on movies. But if any interesting script comes my way then for sure I would love to portray a mythological character in a movie."
