Mumbai, May 13 -- Gulshan Devaiah has proved his acting abilities with films like Shaitan (2011) and Hunterrr (2015), among others. Now, for his new movie, the Bollywood actor is taking inspiration from film-maker Anurag Kashyap.

A source close to the actor says, "In this new film, Gulshan will play a struggling director, who dreams of making a Bollywood film. His character belongs to a small town. He felt that Anurag will serve as a great reference point for the character, as he has defied the norms in the Hindi film industry, and has carved a niche for himself without any godfather."

When contacted, Gulshan says, "There are certain aspects of my role, for which I am using his story as my source material. As a mark of respect, I can't reveal what these stories are because some of the inspiration comes from his personal life. I have a lot of respect and gratitude for Anurag, as he gave me my first break. I am living my dream today because of that."
