Pakistan’s theatre owners have decided to withdraw and ban screening of Indian movies until bilateral tensions between the two countries subside.

There’s something farcical about the brouhaha over whether Pakistani “artistes” should be allowed to work in Bollywood.

Even as Bollywood fans speculate the release of his upcoming film along with Ranbir Kapoor, Anushka Sharma and Aishwarya Rai Bachchan, Pakistani actor Fawad Khan has been blessed with a baby girl.

Some days ago, there were reports that Pakistani actor Fawad Khan left India after threats from political outfit Maharashtra Navnirman Sena.

Hours after Pakistani heartthrob Fawad Khan made a statement on the controversial issue of Pakistani artistes ban in India, some fans have expressed their disappointment over his ‘diplomacy’.

Pakistani actor Fawad Khan was never a part of M S Dhoni: The Untold Story, its makers said on Friday dismissing reports that his role was chopped off from the biopic.

The Cine Owners’ and Exhibitors Association (COEA) on Friday announced they will not screen any film featuring Pakistani artists or technicians.

A prominent national theatre owners association refused on Friday to screen any films with Pakistani artists, plunging into trouble Karan Johar’s upcoming blockbuster Ae Dil Hai Mushkil, which stars Pakistani actor Fawad Khan.

Amid heightened tension between India and Pakistan, Maharashtra Navnirman Sena (MNS) gave a two-day ultimatum to Pakistani artistes and actors to leave India, failing which the party said it will force them out.

Pakistani actor Fawad Khan has reportedly left India, and stalled plans to get back anytime soon.
