In the era of remix and revamp, Bollywood musicians of bygone time hardly appreciate the remake of hit numbers.

However, on contrary, music composer and singer Bappi Lahiri has liked and admired the new version of ‘Tamma Tamma’ from Varun Dhawan and Alia Bhatt starrer ‘Badrinath Ki Dulhania’.

The veteran musician has also agreed to re-record his parts in this revamped version of the hit number. He recently watched the song and lauded it. He said, "Old is gold. But, I am glad that Tamma Tamma is back. I love to sing for today's generation and was glad to re-record my parts in Hollywood and send them across to the makers of Badrinath Ki Dulhania. I feel the number has been mixed very well. I love it."

He praised Varun-Alia pair in the song and said, “Varun and Alia make for my favourite jodi. They look fantastic in the video. Their dance is outstanding and the choreography looks fresh."

The original ‘Tamma Tamma’ song was in the movie ‘Thanedaar’, which released in 1990. The song was choreographed by Saroj Khan and featured Madhuri Dixit and Sanjay Dutt. Interestingly, Dutt had great difficulty in performing the dance steps. The shooting of the song took almost 48 hours to be perfect. On the release of the movie, the song instantly became a hit due to its dance moves.

In ‘Badrinath Ki Dulhania’, the song features Varun Dhawan and Alia Bhatt doing quirky dance moves and it also has a rap of Badshah. The film is a directorial project of Karan Johar.
