Mumbai, Nov. 18 -- The magical chemistry between Shah Rukh Khan and Kajol in films like Dilwale Dulhania Le Jayenge (1995), Kuch Kuch Hota Hai (1998) and Kabhi Khushi Kabhie Gham (2001) is remembered even today.

So much so that there's already a lot of buzz around Rohit Shetty's Dilwale which marks the comeback of the popular on-screen pair after almost five years.

Interestingly, apart from SRK and Kajol, various other successful on-screen pairs are set to make a comeback on the big screen. Two years after Aashiqui 2, Aditya Roy Kapur and Shraddha Kapoor will star in director Shaad Ali's next, which is a remake of filmmaker Mani Ratnam's Tamil movie, O Kadhal Kanmani.

Back again

Also, later this month, Ranbir Kapoor and Deepika Padukone will be seen in director Imtiaz Ali's Tamasha, while Ayushmann Khurrana and Bhumi Pednekar, who last featured in Dum Laga Ke Haisha (DLKH), will team up in Aanand L Rai's next production, Manmarziyan.

"I was impressed with the fearlessness with which Bhumi took on her role in DLKH. Ayushmann seems like a dedicated actor, who is not in a rush to achieve everything quickly. I love such artistes who have patience and control. The script of my next requires such actors. I am happy to work with both of them," says Aanand.

The coming months will also see the Student Of The Year (2012) pair, Sidharth Malhotra and Alia Bhatt, reunite for film-maker Karan Johar's Kapoor And Sons.

And Ranveer Singh will team up with Priyanka Chopra in Sanjay Leela Bhansali's Bajirao Mastani (they were seen together in Gunday last year).

Hit formula

When asked if the tried-and-tested formula of pairs, who have had a successful chemistry in the past works with the audience, exhibitor-distributor Akshaye Rathi says, "Yes, it's always fantastic to play to the success formula, especially when a pair has had successful outings. The recall value is superb. For instance, people still feel excited to see SRK and Kajol together."

Apart from clicking with the audience, even actors feel that their chemistry - on and off screen - comes in handy. "Ayushmann is a great friend, a brilliant actor, and we already share a comfort level with each other," says Bhumi.
