Mumbai, June 28 -- In a matter of eight years, Anushka Sharma has become one of the few actresses to have shared screen space with the three Khans of Bollywood - Shah Rukh, Salman and Aamir.

The 28-year-old is "grateful", but she doesn't believe this gives her an edge over her contemporaries. "I feel that a film-maker should only pick me for his or her film because I'm right for it, and because I can add strength to the role. That is also my criteria for choosing films," says Anushka, adding, "I'm lucky to have worked with the Khans. They have fans all over the world, so, by getting the opportunity to work with them, my work reaches all those people who wouldn't have watched it otherwise."

Anushka also says there's a lot that an actor can learn from the journeys of these artistes, as the kind of stardom they enjoy is not easily achievable. "They have been working for so many years, and we have loved them for who they are. They have stood the test of time, and there is a lot that you can admire about them. They are three different people who have handled their careers very well. There is such great love they receive from people. I don't think anyone from my generation can understand that kind of stardom. You only experience that when you work with these people," she says.

As far as her films are concerned, Anushka will have her hands full even after the release of her upcoming movie. Ask her what she would call her strength as an actor, and she says, "It is nice to not think about what you are and what you do as an actor. The minute you realise who you are, you're narrowing down your capabilities. That is why I never dwell on why people choose me for their films. I think actors should wipe their slate clean every time they begin their work. There should not be any baggage about who they are, what they've done, etc. That's the beauty of being an actor."
