Filmmaker Zoya Akhtar who has earlier helmed Luck and the hit multi-starrer Zindagi Na Milegi Dobara (ZNMD), says that a sequel to ZNMD is on her mind but it has to wait. “I and Reema (Kagti) are currently writing two scripts, one for me and one for her. But my script is not the sequel to ZNMD.
That is something which is on my mind but it will happen few years from now. I have lot of other good stories to tell,” says Zoya, who is daughter of veteran lyricist Javed Akhtar and sister of actor and director Farhan Akhtar.
Moving on, the 39-year-old is quite excited about her short film in the upcoming collaborative project to mark the centenary year of Indian cinema, Bombay Talkies. The film, which releases next month, also features short films by three other filmmakers, Anurag Kashyap, Karan Johar and Dibakar Banerjee.
Talking about her story, she says, “My story is about dreams and about achieving them. It is very aspirational. It revolves around a school boy who wants to be like actor Katrina Kaif and dances his heart out to the song, Sheila Ki Jawaani, all the time. It is inspired by a real incident. I met this kid at a social gathering and he was obsessed with Katrina.”
