Mumbai, June 3 (IANS) Actor-filmmaker Sanjay Khan is making a comeback as a producer after three decades with "Ek Punch Prince" and his actor son Zayed says the film will go on the floors at the end of this year.
"'Ek Punch Prince' is a sports-based film that we will start at the end of the year. Currently, we are working on the script," Zayed, who will also star in the film, told IANS in an interview.
Faruk Kabir of "Allah Ke Banday" fame will helm the film. Other details about the film are currently under wraps.
Sanjay Khan's last production venture is the 1980 movie "Abdullah".
Zayed has turned producer too and launched his company Bornfree in partnership with Dia Mirza and Sahil Sangha. His maiden venture "Love, Breakups, Zindagi" is taking up his maximum time.
The film's shooting is complete and it may come out in August this year.
Playing the role of a producer has taught Zayed a lesson or two.
"Being a producer, you come in with this idea that you will be very spot on, you will be very clear cut, but in this industry one has to learn a lot about flexibility, how to adjust with things and how to take things in their stride. We learnt that," said the 30-year-old.
Other important lesson that he has learned is to be a responsible actor.
"It's not that I was a bad actor but there are certain things that come to light when you become a producer yourself. Sometimes you do tend to take things casually or throw a tantrum or two, but now I have understood a lot of things and have become all the more responsible.
"This is because you realize that a lot of people are depending on you. You have to wake up on time and come for shoot. It's a great high when people depend on you and you deliver what is required out of you," said Zayed.
The actor, who has worked in films like "Main Hoon Na", "Dus", "Shabd", "Mission Istaanbul", "Yuvvraaj" and "Blue", was last seen in a special appearance in "Anjaana Anjaani".
He has now started working on an action film called "Tezz", which will be directed by Priyadarshan and produced by Ratan Jain. It is a remake of the 1994 action flick "Speed".
"I have done action films before but it would be exciting to work with Priyadarshan. He inspires you to do some great stuff," said Zayed.
