Mumbai, July 4 -- Late filmmaker Yash Chopra's 1979 hit, Kaala Patthar (starring Amitabh Bachchan) is still considered an iconic movie. A major part of the film was shot on a set that was made to resemble a coal mine. And now, almost 34 years later, director Ali Abbas Zafar is also set to recreate a coal mine for his upcoming Yash Raj Films (YRF) production, Gunday. Incidentally, a few months before Chopra passed away (October 21, 2012) he shared his experiences of shooting his movie with Ali Abbas.
"The last YRF movie that was shot in a coal mine was Kaala Patthar. Back then, a Hollywood team was flown in to supervise the shoot," says a source close to the production house.
