She might be famous as the Dabangg (fearless) actor, but Sonakshi Sinha is quite the mommy-daddy’s girl. That’s why, even though father-actor-politician Shatrughan Sinha has razed his family bungalow Ramayan to the ground to make way for a duplex-styled structure for his kids, Sonakshi will continue staying with her parents.
Confirming that Ramayan “has been under construction” she says, “Yes, we’re remaking the family home for me, my brothers Luv, Kush and my parents. But I’ll stay with my mom and dad. Hopefully, we will move in by the New Year.”
Sonakshi, meanwhile, plans to convert her “flat into a studio of sorts”. “It will be my zone for meetings, rehearsals and make-up etc. SonakshiSo, my apartment will be solely for professional reasons. But the home will be my parents’ place,” insists the actor, whose hands are full with films like SOS with Ajay Devgn, Kick and Dabangg 2 with Salman Khan besides Rowdy Rathore and Joker with Akshay Kumar.
The family will not move into their new home at one go, but over a few months. “First, we will get into one apartment while the rest of the construction continues,” says Sonakshi, adding that she has given inputs for her duplex, “I want an old-fashioned place with a Victorian touch.”
For some time now, rumours about Sonakshi wanting to move into her own apartment have been doing the rounds. Apparently the Sinhas, including mother Poonam, also accepted her decision and felt the actor needed her own space.
But Sonakshi rubbishes the news. Though her brothers, Luv and Kush, will get separate flats, she says she doesn’t need one. “I’m fine. My parents give me enough space and freedom. I’m very happy living with them,” says Sonakshi.
Ask Sonakshi if her dad has really imposed a 1 am deadline on her while filming in the city, and she shoots back: “Nothing like that. I was shooting till 3.30 am last night. My parents have worked in the industry long enough to know how these schedules work. There are no such restrictions.”
