Will SRK’s purple strategy work?

Looks like actor Shah Rukh Khan is desperately chasing some luck for his cricket team, Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) that plays in the Indian Premier League 5, starting April 4.

The actor said that he replaced black because it wasn’t “lucky”. “The golden colour was because I like gold,
and the black has been changed because I was told that it was not lucky. Last year, since we couldn’t make it to the top four I can’t even argue with it,” he said.

Though SRK and KKR fans are upbeat about this logo designed by global branding agency Lambie-Nairn, experts feel that while it is better than the previous logo, it still needs improvement. “It is comparatively positive but the burning skull in the old logo has been replaced with a burning head on the top, which will prove negative,” says numerologist Sanjay B Jumaani.

Numerologically, KKR and SRK sum up to No. 1, which represents planet ‘Sun’, depicting great success. “The sun rays behind the logo will surely bring in good luck,” says numerologist Vikram Mehta. Healing expert Swati P Midha says, “As the logo is in sync with the team’s jersey colour, which brought them luck last season, it will help them perform better but not best.”

Within 24 hours of the logo being uploaded on the team’s Facebook page, fans started commenting on the new design. “New logo is the logo of revolution...” posted Thashique. “Lovely!!! Hope change is for the good,” wrote Chandrasekharan.
