Mumbai, Oct. 7 -- For diehard Gaga fans or 'little monsters' as she lovingly calls them, there can't be a better Diwali gift than this. On the pop queen's first ever visit to India later this month, we are embarking on a nationwide hunt for her five biggest Indian fans.
The lucky five will meet and greet Lady Gaga in New Delhi. The contest by Hindustan Times and top entertainment portal Desihits.com, is for those who embody the spirit of Gaga. We want you to dress up in your wackiest gear and correctly answer our short Gaga quiz to be in line for this prize. Mail your pic to firstname.lastname@example.org by 10 am on October 24. We will select those who embody the spirit of Gaga and the lucky five will meet and chat with her on October 28 in New Delhi. If you're not the dressing up kind, tell us in 50 words why you embody the spirit of the pop phenomenon to compete for this prize.
"When we introduced Bollywood actor Priyanka Chopra and Lady Gaga to each other in NYC after her concert, Lady Gaga gushed to us about her love for our country and people. She was just so very excited to connect with her desi fans and even talked about how she wanted to learn Hindi. We and the rest of India fell in love with her.
Desi Hits! is so excited to work with HT to connect her with her fans in India," says Anjula Acharia-Bath, CEO, Desi Hits!, the world's premier east/west multimedia entertainment platform.
Gaga had earlier worked with composers Salim and Sulaiman and Canada's Desi boy trio Culture Shock in conjunction with Desi Hits! on a collection of Bollywood/desi remixes, and has caught the bug since then. Lady Gaga will be in India for five days and will perform for a select few at an after party following the 2011 Indian Grand Prix, on October 30 at actor Arjun Rampal's New Delhi club, Lap.
Although the singer won't be doing any public concerts on this trip, she is keen to connect with her fans in person through this contest and other activities she has planned for her Indian fans. "I can't wait to finally come to India. I am so excited. In some ways, I wish I could just throw on some heels and sprint all the way there to you right now," Gaga told Desi Hits!
