Chopra was suffering from dengue and was admitted to Lilavati Hospital on Oct 13. He passed away here Sunday following multiple organ failure. He was 80.

The filmmaker returned to direction after seven years with "Jab Tak Hai Jaan" and teamed up with his favourite Shah Rukh Khan and paired him with Katrina Kaif and Anushka Sharma. The film is set to release on Nov 13.
