Mumbai, May 23 -- A character's look often sets the tone for their role in a film. That's why director Vikramaditya Motwane left no stone unturned when it came to the wardrobe of Sonakshi Sinha, his leading lady in Lootera.
Although Sonakshi plays a young girl in the film, she is decked in saris throughout. And one particular song sequence required her to wear nine different saris, which together cost around R3 lakh.
A source says, "Sonakshi wore nine saris in the song 'Sawaar loon'. It isn't lip synced and is shown as a montage spread over various days, so the outfits were essential. Each sari was especially chosen, and cost R30,000- 35,000. Most of them were handloom silk. The song has turned out beautiful and Vikram is happy with the results."
