Mumbai, June 22 -- The new television channel Zindagi, will broadcast stories from across the border; series that are finite and have a refreshing content. The channel will be the firstever to bring shows from across the border officially on Indian TV.
Priyanka Dutta, Business head, Zindagi tells us reasons why you should watch the channel. "If you are a fan of Pakistani soaps such as Dhoop Kinare, Tanhaiyan and Kahi Ankahi, among others, you will love watching Zindagi. The channel will have original soundtracks for each show with songs by Rahat Fateh Ali Khan, Ali Zafar, Abida Parveen, Sanam Marvi, and more," says Dutta.
She adds that as usually on Indian TV, one find shows that have been on air for years, characters that never grow old, and stories that never move ahead. "If that's tiring, welcome Zindagi on your television screens. The channel will air shows that have finite number of episodes and broadcast 45 shows in a year, with new ones every month," she says.
Shows on Zindagi will be refreshing too. "Did you wonder how the characters on Indian TV can afford to have sprawling bungalows, or the temple or hospital set on one show looks familiar to another's? If yes, then they will bring you back to reality as the shows airing on it have been shot at real locations," says Dutta.
Though our culture is similar to Pakistan's, but ever since the Partition, we haven't visited each other's homes. "Zindagi will be the vehicle for connecting people by showing us their lives through their shows. The shows will be written by literary stalwarts and acclaimed writers. And last, but not the least, Zindagi will feature beautiful faces from across the border. Fawad Khan, Sanam Saeed, Imran Abbas, Maya Ali, Osman Butt, Aminah Sheikh and others, are part of shows like Zindagi Gulzar Hai, Aunn Zara and Mera Naseeb," adds Dutta.
Zindagi will enter your homes and television screens on June 23 at 8 pm.
