Mohit Sehgal says he's not insecure..

Mumbai, July 21 -- From playing the cute boy-next-door in Miley Jab Hum Tum to essaying a grey role in Qubool Hai, TV actor Mohit Sehgal has not starred in too many shows, but the 29-year-old has made a mark with his diverse choices. Now, after a year-long hiatus, the actor will be seen in a new serial, where he will play the part of a small town boy who falls in love with a city girl.

Mohit is excited about the show, and doesn't mind that it has got an early time slot for airing. "Prime time has changed over the years. There was a time when shows vied for the 8pm or 9pm slots. But today, market research proves that people enjoy watching serials as early as even 6pm. I don't think time slots affect an actor's career. I chose to do the show, as I think the production house is credible, and I found the role to be challenging," says the actor. Mohit's career has had too many breaks, but that hasn't fazed him.

The actor doesn't mind waiting for a good role. "I have always received offers, but I was not convinced about the roles I got. I want to play characters I have never played before, and I wish to not repeat myself. I have faith in myself, and I am not insecure about these breaks in my career." More often than not, his relationship with TV actor Sanaya Irani has kept him in the news. But Mohit is clear that he doesn't want his personal life to be the media's focus. "I want to be in the news for my work, and not because of other facets of my life.

I want to do well in my career, and that keeps me going." Ask him if there are plans to tie the knot with Sanaya anytime soon, and he says, "We are both focused on our careers. She is doing a dance reality show, and my show has just started, so we don't have the time to think about it (marriage) right now. It will happen eventually, but not in the near future."
