I don't have much to complain about: Hussain Kuwajerwala

Mumbai, Oct. 28 -- Actor, anchor and dancer Hussain Kuwajerwala, who started his career with soaps like Kyunki... Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi... and Kumkum, among others, is most popularly known for his hosting skills.

He has 13 shows to his credit, as a host. Now, Hussain is back on the tube with a new anchoring assignment.

Here, he talks about how hosting has not overpowered his acting career, working with Amitabh Bachchan, and getting his due on the small screen.

Do you think you lose out on acting roles because of your popularity as an anchor?

I don't think so. I am offered acting roles regularly. But, along with my hosting projects on TV, I was busy with my musical drama in Delhi. Currently, I have a television show in the pipeline. I want to get back to acting. Also, I don't ponder so much over what other people think [about me]. I don't think I should start acting now just because I have hosted too many shows, or because I'm afraid that people might forget me as an actor. As long as you are true to what you are doing, things will work out. You can make wrong decisions too, but they too add to your experience.

Do you feel you have got your due on the small screen?

Totally. I am more than happy, but yeh dil maange more (my heart wants more). With the amount of work I have done in the last year - from hosting two reality shows to participating in an adventure reality show - I don't think I have anything to complain about.

How was the experience of working with Amitabh Bachchan?

Indescribable. He has been my hero since childhood, and has inspired millions of people. To meet him, to share the stage with him, and to see how he works is mindblowing. I can just look at him all day. I never imagined there would come a time when I would be working with him. His sense of humour is different from what we have seen on-screen. It's amazing to see that, even today, after years of experience, he works with such passion, and rehearses daily. He doesn't take things lightly, and works with dedication.
