New Delhi, (IANS) Three well-known faces of Indian news television have been honoured with the Padma Shri awards announced Friday. They are Barkha Dutt, managing editor of NDTV 24X7, Rajdeep Sardesai, editor-in-chief of the news channel CNN-IBN, and Vinod Dua, a popular anchor and analyst with NDTV India, the Hindi arm of NDTV.
Barkha Dutt, who made her mark with daring reportage of the Kargil war in 1999, has covered conflicts from the frontlines in Pakistan, Afghanistan and Iraq. She hosts a popular chat show, "We The People" every week.
