New Delhi, June 13 -- A quiet controversy brews over the title of filmmaker Anees Bazmee's Sonam Kapoor, Akshay Kumar starrer Thank You, even as he shoots for it in far away Canada.

On Friday, actress-filmmaker Pooja Bhatt posted on Twitter, "While UTV goes to town publicising its film Thank You, they should consider this detail - the title has been duly registered by my company."

Pooja told HT City, "For a while now, I've been noticing stories in the media about the UTV production, Thank You, and I'm shocked. My company Fish Eye Network had registered the title Thank You on 9 September, 2008 with the Association of Motion Pictures & TV Programme Producer of India (AMPTPP) for a feature film in Hindi, English and even for a TV show."

UTV officials, on the other hand, claim that they have the title registered with the Indian Motion Pictures Producer Association (IMPAA) and have proof to back it. "UTV has registered the title Thank you with IMPAA in 2008. Our legal team has respond to Bhatt," says a UTV spokesperson.

AMPTPP and IMPAA are the two registration bodies for film and TV titles. They regularly update each other on their registrations. "In this case, it seems that IMPAA, by mistake, has given a title, already with Pooja Bhatt, to UTV. We will have to work out a compromise between the two parties," says Vikas Mohan, senior VP, AMPTPP.

Pooja further says, "We have written to AMPTPP, and they have sent a letter to IMPAA and UTV on May 14, stating the fact that the title is registered with me. But in the media, the title Thank You is still being publicised, which is unfair."
