'The Hurt Locker' sets records at 82nd Academy Awards

Los Angeles, March 8 (IANS) "The Hurt Locker" swept the 82nd Annual Academy Awards ceremony here winning six out of nine trophies, becoming the lowest grossing movie ever to win the ultimate Hollywood award. Its maker Kathryn Bigelow is the first female director to win the Oscar.

Set in Iraq, it follows a bomb disposal unit and captures the tension and danger as they seek to defuse explosives in cars, under dirt and strapped on people.

Los Angeles, Feb 1 (IANS) Late pop legend Michael Jackson's son Prince Michael said that he will continue his father's legacy of spreading love after he received the posthumous lifetime achievement award on behalf of his dad at the Grammys.

"We are proud to accept this award on behalf of our father. We want to thank all our friends and family...our father loved you all. Our father always cared about the planet and humanity. All his songs had one common and simple message - love. And we will spread his message," said Prince, 12, Sunday.

Mumbai, Oct 19 (IANS) Julia Roberts is impressed with Mrunalinni Dayal's forthcoming film "Dhuaaan - The Fire Within" based on a true story, but won't be able to attend the premiere due to prior commitments.

Roberts watched vignettes of "Dhuaaan" with Claire Raskind, the publicist of her film "Eat Pray, Love", while she was shooting for the film at the Ashram Hari Mandir in Pataudi, Haryana.

Even as the Pretty Woman spent her last day in India Friday, her white air-conditioned vanity van told a story of its own.

With two rooms and a washroom, it had sparkling black flooring and her character Elizabeth Gilbert's name pasted on the door, as witnessed by these IANS correspondents.

London, Sep 7 (IANS) British pop star Lady GaGa has been crowned queen of the downloads as new figures show she is on the top of the all-time download charts.

Her single "Poker Face" has notched up 779,000 sales on downloads alone to top the charts while her first British release "Let's Dance" is at number three with 700,000, reported mirror.co.uk.

The list has been compiled by the Official Charts Company to mark five years since the launch of the download chart.
