Mumbai, Nov. 4 -- A few days back, Bollywood glitterati including Abhishek ABachchan, Karan Johar, Dia Mirza and Raveena Tandon warmly welcomed friend Sonali Bendre to popular micro-blogging site Twitter, little knowing that it was a fake account.
And of course, Sonali isn't amused: "I'm not on Twitter. Everyone's been announcing it, but it feels very strange. Whoever is doing it is very creative, but let me clarify; it's definitely not me." Interestingly, certain newspapers have also quoted Sonali from the fake account.
"So far, it's been harmless, but it's scary that people think it's me. The person who is writing and posting opinions has nothing to do with me," says the actor, who also plans to file a complaint against the mischief-maker. "All my friends also announced that it's not my account. It was done with. But since the account is still active with this person making statements, I have to take some steps," says Sonali, who recently finished shooting for her TV show, India's Got Talent (IGT), adding, "I am taking a break right now with the festive period around," she says with a smile.
She also adds that she isn't on any social networking website" "I'm a private person and can't announce my day to-day happenings. I'm not comfortable with it. Plus, I am technologically challenged. Yesterday, when my sister-in-law told me how I could open a new tab on my browser, I was like, 'wow, it makes life so much simpler.' My family thinks I am a big joke. I think my son will teach me a few things soon." After IGT, Sonali has been offered a fitness show, but she isn't sure about signing it yet: "Yes, people have been in touch, but it needs to be worked on a little more. But I need to be very sure about the show. I'm waiting for things to come together perfectly."
