Mumbai, July 6 -- She has been on a roller coaster ride since Aashiqui 2 became a blockbuster. And now, Shraddha Kapoor will be seen in Karan Johar's Gori Tere Pyaar Mein (GTPM) followed by Mohit Suri's The Villain. We have been told that KJo has roped her in for an item song in his upcoming multi-starrer, Ungli, that's being directed by Rensil D'Silva.
"Karan has always been fond of Shraddha. Even before Aashiqui 2, he had signed her for another film (GTPM). When the team was talking about item girls, everyone felt that she would fit the bill perfectly. The song will be picturised on Emraan (Hashmi) and her at a suburban film studio," says a unit insider. "The idea was to bring in a fresh face opposite Emraan."
Shakti Kapoor's daughter will shoot the song today. "She is quite kicked about it. After all, this is the first time that she is appearing in an item number," says the insider. As for her other projects, Shraddha has almost wrapped up her work in Punit Malhotra's GTPM that also stars Kareena Kapoor and Imran Khan. "Now, she is completely focused on The Villain with Sidharth Malhotra. She isn't in a hurry to sign films though," adds the insider.
Despite repeated attempts, Karan and Shraddha couldn't be reached for comments but sources confirmed that the song will be filmed today. Ungli also stars Sanjay Dutt, Kangana Ranaut, Randeep Hooda and Neha Dhupia, and is slated to release later this year.
