Shahid Kapoor exudes a very lover-boy image with all his romantic roles. Right from the young and confused in-love Rajiv Mathur in Ishk Vishq to the shy and engaged Prem in Vivah his cute looks have won him a chocolate hero image. But all this seems to change with Firoz Nadiadwala's Fool N Final. He promises a lot of action - and in literal sense.
So if you saw him in a flying car in Vaah! Life Ho To Aisi, this time you will be astonished to see that his hi-flying antics has reached a different level altogether. Shahid for his upcoming film Fool N Final has been trained to perform stunts on a BMX bike. “Shahid plays a small time thief but he robs on a BMX bike. All the top mafias of Dubai are after him. In an action sequence an H2 Hummer is chasing Shahid on the streets of Dubai while he in on a BMX bike. You should check out his speed. He is even faster than the cars,” exclaims director Ahmed Khan.
Trained under the watchful eyes of master action director Allan Amin, it seemed like a grueling task for Shahid. “Shahid Kapoor has spent three months learning to do stunts on a BMX bike. You have to see him do his stunts. He has done a wheelie and a tail whip. It's really dangerous and hats off to Allan for getting it done and hats off to Shahid for doing it”, Khan's praise for Shahid continues.
But the highlight of his stunts should definitely be the one in which he jumps off the 16th floor of a building on his BMX bike. “Shahid is running away from the bad guys and enters the lift of a building with his BMX. It reaches the top floor and these goons run behind him. Now they think he is trapped as he has nowhere to go. But from the terrace there is a cloth hanging till the ground. Then he leaps on the ground and rides the bicycle all the way down”, Ahmed Khan explains the entire action sequence.
Shahid really put in a lot of effort and concentration to get the stunt to be perfect. “He woke up in the morning, didn't have his breakfast, just began rehearsing and took the shot at 1:30pm.” Now that's called perfection. He is completely dressed up like Eminem in Fool N Final, wearing pants with the waist of 36-38.
Not many know that Ahmed and Shahid's association didn't begin with Fool N Final. Ahmed divulges, “He did it for me. He is my childhood friend and we have grown up together. We used to stay in the same building and our parents are friends. I had choreographed his first film Ishk Vishq. He looks different from what we normally see of him.”
So post the powerful bikes in Dhoom, we come across something new and fresh. Let's wait and watch to see what heights Shahid will actually scale - literally.
