After RA.One, actor Shahana Goswami will now be seen sharing screen space with Kareena Kapoor in Madhur Bhandarkar’s much-talked-about project, Heroine. “My part is very different from all that I have played before in terms of the character’s graph,” says Shahana, who plays an actor in the film.

Heroine’s storyline apparently revolves around the Hindi film industry and is known to be a mix of fact and fiction. Elaborating on the script, Shahana adds, “It’s a nice and subtle depiction of what actually happens in our industry.”

Though Kareena and co-star Arjun Rampal have already begun shooting for the film, Shahana will step in only in February. “I am shooting for an independent film till January end in Sri Lanka, then I will start work on Heroine,” she says.

Meanwhile, the actor is also keeping herself busy with filmmaker Rohan Sippy’s musical production, Love And All That Jazz, in association with Chivas Studio. “For me the most challenging part was playing the sensual diva. But it all comes together eventually. The clothes and make-up also help,” says Shahana. On the other hand, Shahana will be keeping all the glamour aside for her part as Amina in Deepa Mehta’s Midnight’s Children, a cinematic adaptation of author Salman Rushdie’s book by the same name.

“It’s a very intense role and one of the finest characters I have ever played,” says the actor, adding, “The film will be completed by mid-2012. Then I’ll tour the world along with it.”
