Living up to the blow-hot-blow-cold rapport they seem to share over the years, Shabana Azmi and Shatrughan Sinha have kissed and made up...once again. This, so soon after they were snapping at one another over the minority's issue, which Shabana had raised, and Shatrughan Sinha had razed down by accusing his colleague of feeling unfairly persecuted on behalf of the minorities.
The heat has settled down, and now Shabana, who turned a year older this week, will be visiting Patna and the suburbs to look at the flood-affected areas on the Bihari Babu Shatrughan Sinha's invitation. Says Shabana, "Shatrughan Sinha is a dear friend from long back. We have our share of differences. But I've always looked on him as someone I can count on whenever the need arises. And vice-versa. So when he asked me to accompany him to Bihar to visit the flood-affected areas there was no way I could say no." All the arrangements for Shabana's one-day visit to Bihar on Saturday have been made by Sinha.
"I don't even know what places he has on his agenda. I've left it him. This is my first visit to Bihar since 1993," says Shabana who turned a year older on 18 September. "Both my husband Javed and I waited for midnight. We breathed a sigh of relief when it was midnight. He wished me a happy birthday. And then both we oldies went to sleep."
